Innovative Design Solves TPO Roof PV Pain Points | Valin’s Membrane-Rail Integrated Base Leads Industry Safety Standards

Valin New Energy has achieved a major breakthrough in membrane roof PV applications with its independently developed Membrane-Rail Integrated Base. Featuring the core design of “Long Rail + Wide Base” with a 500mm extended size, this product completely subverts the load distribution mode of traditional welded small bases, fundamentally solving the problems of insulation board collapse, sagging water accumulation and roof leakage, providing a safe and durable integrated solution for TPO/PVC membrane roof PV projects.

Innovative Design: 500mm Long Rail + Wide Base Reconstructs Load Distribution Logic

Specially designed for TPO/PVC membrane roofs, Valin’s Membrane-Rail Integrated Base features a 500mm extended rail and wide integrated structure, realizing a revolutionary upgrade in load transmission compared with common 150mm welded small bases.

Core Design Advantages

  • 500mm Ultra-long Rail: Greatly increases the contact area with the roof insulation board, effectively distributes the weight of PV modules, snow load and wind load, ensuring linear and uniform load distribution and eliminating local stress concentration.
  • Integrated Wide Base: Factory pre-assembled with high structural strength and no weak welding points. Fixed directly on the TPO/PVC membrane by hot-air welding without perforation, preserving the original waterproof structure.
  • Extreme Weather Resistance: Excellent performance in resisting snow load and wind uplift, with stable operation in typhoon-prone areas.

Industry Pain Points: Defects of Traditional Welded Small Bases

The 150mm welded small bases widely used in the market have unavoidable defects:

  • Severe stress concentration easily crushes roof insulation boards and causes roof sagging;
  • Sagging leads to water accumulation, accelerating membrane aging and lap tearing, resulting in roof leakage;
  • The on-site welding process is unstable, and the weld seam is prone to rusting and cracking, and it may fall off after long-term use;
  • Uneven load distribution increases risks under heavy snow and typhoon conditions.

As illustrated in the figure, following the installation of traditional welded small bases on a TPO membrane roof project, the roof insulation boards have collapsed under the relatively light weight load of the support racks and solar modules, resulting in water pooling and surface depressions. If this installation method is adopted in regions with high snow load distribution, the weight of ice and snow accumulating on the module surfaces will easily cause excessive pressure to concentrate on the extremely small load-bearing area of the small bases. This will lead to roof subsidence and cracking at the lap joints of the roof membrane, further triggering roof leakage and ultimately rendering the roof’s waterproofing performance ineffective.
